If you’re looking to enhance your site with custom features—whether it’s a map, form, countdown timer, or something more dynamic—embedding your own HTML, CSS, or JavaScript can open up a world of possibilities. With Particle Scrolls’ Websites + Marketing platform, you have the flexibility to integrate third-party tools or even hand-coded snippets to shape your site exactly how you want it.

Whether you’re adding a contact form from another platform, a widget from a design tool, or just a bit of interactivity, the process is straightforward. You’ll be working directly within the site editor, choosing exactly where your code appears on the page. There’s a specific section type for this—called simply “HTML”—which you can add like any other content block.

Once added, you can paste in your code, adjust the layout, fine-tune styling, and define how much vertical space the section should occupy. Want it to size automatically? Leave the height field blank. Want it gone altogether? Set the height to 0 pixels, and it’ll disappear from view.

Integrating Analytics and Tracking Tools

If your goal is to connect tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or Pinterest Meta Tag, good news—you don’t need to embed anything manually. These integrations are built right into the Settings section of your website dashboard. Simply paste in the necessary IDs, and the platform will handle the rest. Just be sure you’re complying with data privacy regulations by offering a cookie consent option to your visitors. In most regions, it’s not just best practice—it’s the law.

Important Considerations When Using Custom Code

Custom code is powerful, but it comes with a few caveats:

  • Be cautious. One misplaced tag can affect the appearance or functionality of your entire page.
  • Stick with HTTPS. Embedded content served over HTTP may not work, especially on secure sites.
  • Watch the height. If your widget isn’t showing up, try increasing the pixel height of the section.
  • Responsiveness may vary. Code that looks perfect in one browser or screen size might behave differently elsewhere, especially since the HTML block renders content inside an iframe.
  • Avoid embedding Google AdSense in an iframe. Doing so violates Google’s policies and can impact your ability to monetize.

If you’re unfamiliar with coding, free online resources like freeCodeCamp or HubSpot’s HTML basics can help you get started. And if you’d rather not code at all, many services offer pre-built embed codes you can simply copy and paste.

Need Help?

While the Particle Scrolls team can walk you through how the HTML section works, keep in mind that we can’t troubleshoot third-party code directly. If something isn’t displaying as expected, it’s often an issue with the code itself—not the website builder.

Still curious? Try embedding a simple QR code, pull in a review feed from your social channels, or explore interactive widgets. With a little code, your site can do more than you might expect.
